2015 BGTW Travel Writer of the Year – Jonathan Thompson

BGTW Travel Writer of the Year award, sponsored by Travel PR, went to Jonathan Thompson for a portfolio of travel articles in the Daily TelegraphEscapismMetro and the Guardian. They ranged in scope from a visit to Antarctica on the trail of Shackleton, the marriage match corner of Chengdu in Sichuan, a cookery class in Venice, the Bloomingdale Trail – Chicago’s answer to New York’s High Line, and Ian Fleming’s love affair with Jamaica and the part it played in creating James Bond.
