Our BGTW Talks Travel discussions are part of a series of online events to bring people together during these extraordinary times, and help our members and other travel professionals move forward.
These events aim to connect and educate us for what’s to come as travel writers, creators and photographers. By connecting leaders in the world and featuring the latest travel opinion and developments, we help keep you at the forefront, creating and innovating.
Next up — BGTW Talks Travel: Destinations
What is the future for the destinations and attractions that we’ll be covering as lockdown eases? On Tuesday 12th May at 10am you’ll have the chance to hear from top destinations and PR experts, sharing their thinking and plans about what comes next for the places that travellers want to go.
They’ll talk about the impact of the virus, what travellers can expect and possible stories. The event will be hosted by Jennifer Howze, Communications Director of the BGTW, cofounder of BritMums and family travel blogger at Jenography.net. Featured panellists* are:
- Sigríður (Sigga) Dögg Guðmundsdóttir – Head of Visit Iceland
- Kyle Haughton – Managing Director of City Cruises
- Tolene Van der Merwe – Director for UK & Ireland, Malta Tourism Authority
- Amy Skelding – Senior Partner of The Brighter Group, a Finn Partners company

How do I join?
First you signup for the event via Eventbrite. Then on the day of the event before the start time, you’ll be sent a Zoom url to join. (You can sign up and download Zoom here.)
At the time of the webinar, simply click on the Zoom url in the email and you’ll be taken to the Zoom website — you can join via the website or the desktop or mobile app.
Once the panel is ready to begin, you’ll be admitted to the room. You’ll be able to see and hear the panellists and our moderator, and type messages via the Zoom chat function. You will be not be visible to other participants. Your name will be visible if you join in the chat.
