BGTW Summer Party 2023

The BGTW sure knows how to party and thanks to our friends and hosts Doug Warner and the team at Explore Charleston, our summer soirée was no exception.

Serenaded with the lilting sounds of talented cellist Paul Wianko, composer in residence at Charleston‘s annual Spoleto Festival in the jaw dropping surrounds of Frameless, our merry crew of over 80 writers, photographers, videographers, bloggers and creatives got down to celebrating networking in the travel business.

Venue Frameless in Marble Arch lived up to expectations. A fantastic place to ‘escape reality through maximum immersion’. Guests mingled among 29 masterpieces from the likes of art world greats like Van Gogh, Rembrandt, all flipped on their head with state-of-the-art technology. Moët and Chandon bubbles, and gin cocktails were sipped.

Thank you to everyone who entered our summer party raffle. To add to the evening’s success, BGTW partygoers raised an impressive £800 for the Charitable Travel Fund thanks to raffle prizes donated by our kind sponsors.

The Prizes and who won what…

Dom Tulett claimed the top prize courtesy of Sonas Collection with a mini break to Scotland’s Isle of Skye with a ‘dark Skye romance package’ staying at Duisdale House Hotel and including a half day tour, worth £850.

An overnight stay at stylish five-star London hotel The Adria with afternoon tea worth £700 was won by former chair Mary Moore Mason.

A trendy travel bracelet to record travels by El Camino worth £200 was won by Kav.

Frances Howorth won a crystal Swarovski Decanter worth £150 from our friends at the Austrian National Tourist Office.

Last but not least, Tina Ediss scooped a San Antonio cook’s goody box complete with cookbook, apron and leather travel wallet worth £100.

Bottles of bubbles went to the deserving winners of the ‘best creative badge’ contest with Anne Gorringe in first place for her flowery confection, second Sarah Rodrigues with an Aussie themed badge while a highly commended went to Christa Larwood (who sadly couldn’t make it in person) – so received a remote ‘thumbs up’.
