The BGTW’s Summer Party on Friday September 11 was a resounding success with some 40 members attending. We took a 40-minute Tower of London River Tour on the new electric Woods’ Silver Raven with a great commentary then a talk from Kate Woods, the latest generation of a family who have been Thames watermen since 1866.

St Katherine Docks gave us a private view of the boats gathered for the weekend’s annual Classic Boat Festival at the Docks. And for those royal enthusiasts, we were taken onboard Gloriana, The Queen’s Rowbarge, built for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012, and designed by Kate Woods.

We ended, as many Guild social events do, at a nearby pub, the Dickens Inn. Huge thanks are due to Esther Bell (one of our finalists in the new PR Recognition Awards), who arranged the evening’s events, along with Lucie Herring.
