Guild’s new Yearbook 2015-16 launched

5G8A9680 copyThe Guild’s new Yearbook is out. It’s a must have source for anyone involved in travel and can be ordered on this website. Want to find a writer who’s expert on a particular country, knows everything there is to know about holiday activities from archaeology to skiing – or a photographer who takes stunning travel images? The 2015 – 16 edition has it all. It’s packed with profiles of our 267 members, essential information on their areas of expertise, lists media contacts and includes details of hundreds of key travel industry players.

5G8A9462 copyThe Yearbook was launched at London’s Coliseum, home of the English National Opera (ENO). Over 200 members and guests were greeted by music from the Capital String Quartet. Elsewhere in the huge theatre – unseen and unheard – cast rehearsed Mike Leigh’s hugely anticipated production of the Pirates of Penzance, which was scheduled to open a few days later.

5G8A9499The event was sponsored by the English National Opera who were represented at the event by Jonathan Mountford, of made, their tourism marketing, representation and PR company.

5G8A9641 copyFollowing tradition, a range of tasty prizes was raffled in a good cause – raising £1170 for Variety, the Children’s Charity. Its head of corporate funding Mike Haszko explained the work it does, to lighten the lives of disabled children. This includes paying for customised wheelchairs, and providing Sunshine Coaches – 5250 over the charity’s 65 years – which give the children the opportunity to enjoy educational visits and trips to theme parks or the seaside which they might not otherwise get.
