Lindsay Sutton scoops top US award

Lindsay SuttonA piece on the birth of America’s National Parks has won Guild member Lindsay Sutton top honours in the US Travel Association and Brand USA’s 2016 IPW Travel Writer Awards competition, sponsored by CityPASS. Because of the high quality of entries his was one of two voted best US travel destination feature*.  On the 100th anniversary of President Theodore Roosevelt’s creation of the parks system, Lindsay chronicled a trek across North Dakota, the state where the idea was born. His feature, “Follow in a President’s Footsteps“, appeared in the Manchester Evening News in February. He was praised for taking readers ” readers down unsigned dirt roads, through the rugged North Dakota Badlands, and to the far corners of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, all the while highlighting the personality and motivations of the man who would become America’s first ‘conservationist in chief”.”
