Writer, editor, and teacher of travel writing with over 30 books and many more articles to my name, having edited Traveller magazine; written, project and series edited for companies including Berlitz, Insight Guides, Michelin, Passport Guides, AA Publishing, DK, Thomas Cook and many others. After a rush of blood to my head and following the aid of a Winston Churchill Memorial Fellowship, I am currently taking time out to teach and write a narrative travel book on the Cairo to Cape railways, together with studying fora PhD on travel writing at the University of Essex, both due for completion in 2020. Not actively hunting but still accepting commissions!
