Cross-over journalist from traditional to new media. Specialised in travel journalism as an independent local radio presenter/producer in the 80s and national radio (Classic FM) in the 90s. Former BGTW Chair & Vice-Chair. Have been a regular speaker at travel blogging/ SM conferences.

Now owner of specialist niche blog Mechtraveller.com, which focuses on industrial heritage, battlefield sites, technical & military museums, factory tours, transport & transport infrastructure, electric vehicles, amazing engineering & architecture… and where you can see it.  

Co-author of Bradt: D-Day Landings – A travel guide to Normandy’s beaches and battlegrounds.
