Biography

Becki is a freelance travel writer based in Vienna, Austria, specialising in adventure and culture travel. Her work aims to change perceptions of destinations, encouraging people to travel responsibly and with a positive social impact. She has bylines in National Geographic, the Guardian, Independent, Sunday Times, and Wizz Magazine, regularly writes for major travel brands, and is a Lonely Planet guidebook author.

Becki's website, Borders of Adventure, is a leading travel resource with insight into the social, historical, political and economic factors that shape the country or place in relation to tourism, in an attempt to overcome common misconceptions. It has been running for 15 years.

Becki has appeared live on Sky News and CNN talking about travel to North Korea, at a time when the country was top of the news agenda, as well as appearing in international media, including Israel, Finland and Serbia. Her content on Iran appeared in National Geographic, The Guardian online, and she has been featured in various high-profile publications, including Time.com and The New York Times.
