Bridget McGrouther

Biography

After 20+ years as an assistant editor, features writer and chief sub on UK and Australian publications (including Scottish Field and Cleo magazines), I became a freelance travel writer in 2006 and, until recently, was a weekly travel page columnist for The Sunday Mail (Scotland) from 2009 – 2024. I also contribute to UK newspapers like The Mail on Sunday/ Daily Mail and The Sunday Post; magazines such as Decanter, Beau Monde Traveller and My Weekly; as well as websites like lovefood.com and muddystilettos.co.uk, where I was Launch Editor for Yorkshire from Aug 2024 – May 2025. I was once lucky enough to be commissioned by Saga Holidays to travel around the world in 50 days for my 50th birthday, writing weekly articles for The Telegraph, as well as blogging and posting social media for Saga’s website.
