Biography
Carmen Roberts is a TV host and travel journalist who has reported from more than 85 countries across six continents. With a background in broadcast television, she brings a storytelling-first approach to travel writing, covering everything from adventure and expedition travel to luxury, wellness and sustainable tourism.Carmen is known for going beyond the surface of a destination – she reported from the devastated resort town of Phuket after the Asian tsunami in 2004, filmed on the world's longest flight, gone behind the scenes of the world's most high-speed railways and reported from one of the world's most secretive countries, North Korea. Having lived in Japan for eight years, she brings rare depth and cultural insight to one of travel's most fascinating destinations. A late-life skier, who learnt to ski on international television, she now covers mountain and winter travel with hard-won enthusiasm.
Her work spans print, digital and video, and she has written for and appeared across a range of national and international media. Beyond journalism, Carmen mentors aspiring travel entrepreneurs, helping people launch their own travel businesses, and speaks at universities about the many ways to build a career and income in the travel industry.
Based in the UK, Carmen is available for assignments, press trips, brand partnerships and broadcast.
