Biography

Catherine Boardman is a seasoned travel and culture writer whose blog, Catherine's Cultural Wednesdays, captures her love for exploration. With a background in broadcast journalism at the BBC, Catherine has a talent for storytelling that blends historical insight with vibrant travel experiences. Her writing spans diverse topics, from family adventures across Europe to cultural excursions in London, highlighting UNESCO World Heritage sites, off-the-beaten-path destinations, and art exhibitions. After 20 years I set up my blog Catherine’s Cultural Wednesdays focused on Arts, Culture and Travel. A bit of a leap from Business and Economics but I had done some travel writing moonlighting during the BBC years for The Independent and Rough Guides. Cultural Wednesday focuses on cultural travel (museums, galleries, UNESCO sites, great architecture, music) with an audience that tends toward the empty nest/early retirees with time and money to to spend.
