Biography

British-born, but based in the Algarve, Portugal (previously Australia and New Zealand), Daniel has a passion for slow, sustainable travel. He recently undertook his most ambitious no-fly journey yet, a six-month train, ferry and bus adventure from Faro to the Faroe Islands (via the Baltics and Nordics) and then back down from the Arctic to Africa, ending in Essaouira.

Bylines include: Lonely Planet (guidebooks and digital), Rough Guides, The Times, Preferred Travel, The Guardian, National Geographic Traveller, Weather2Travel, London Economic, and Going. He is currently completing the NCTJ Diploma in Journalism.

His photography has been used by Lonely Planet, Grazia, Vogue and various tourism boards while videography assignments have included extended projects with EU Aid in Jamaica and Festivals Edinburgh as their blogger-in-residence.
