Diana Jarvis

Biography

I've worked in travel publishing for 20+ years, variously as a photographer, writer and book designer. In 2020 I finished an MSc in Environment and Sustainability and since then have undertaken a wide range of projects as a sustainability consultant and journalist. My work has been published in the Guardian, Independent, Time Out, Wanderlust, Adventure.com, JRNY Magazine and others. I have a regular 'responsible photography' column in The GreenTraveller Magazine and am the Sustainability Editor of the Margate Mercury.

My main areas of expertise are safari, conservation and wildlife, flight-free and overland travel, nature-based tourism, cycling and walking.

I still undertake commercial and editorial photography. Clients include Tourism Ireland, Intrepid, Visit England, Airbnb, FINN partners. My photos have been published widely across print and digital media including National Geographic Traveller, Travel Africa, JRNY America, and the early part of my career was as a guidebook photographer for Rough Guides. I was also the official photographer for the Duke of Edinburgh's state visit to the Atlantic Island of St Helena in 2024.
