Joly Braime

Biography

I'm a writer/editor with 20 years' experience, specialising in hiking, camping and the outdoors. I've written for publications including Walk magazine, The Great Outdoors, Waterfront, Ernest, Time Out and WildBounds, covering a range of domestic and international destinations from Nepal to Andorra.

I have a special interest in the Scandinavian countries – particularly Norway and Sweden. I've taken many trips there over the years in both summer and winter, and have walked several of the big long-distance routes including the Kungsleden, Troms Border Trail, St Olav pilgrim path and the 1400km Gröna Bandet (Green Ribbon) along the length of the Scandinavian mountain range.

In the UK, I've written a lot about long-distance walking routes, and have covered many national and regional trails, including pilgrim paths. In addition to travel-focused articles, I write regularly on gear and other outdoor issues like wild camping or hiking with dogs.
