Biography :
I am a freelance travel writer and family travel blogger based in London. I have authored guidebooks for Lonely Planet, reviewed hotels for the British boutique hotel brand Mr & Mrs Smith and contributed articles for publications including Lonely Planet online, BBC Food, TravelAge West, Twist Travel Magazine and The Australian among others. My blog, globetotting.com is ranked one of the top 10 family travel blogs in the UK. I have spent the last 12 years living abroad with my family in Australia, India and Mexico. We returned to the UK two years ago. Prior to life on the road with my family, I lived in China where I started my writing career working for Beijing Scene Magazine, a now defunct arts and entertainment magazine that was the first of its kind in the city. My travel writing career started when I was hired to contribute to the Lonely Planet guide to China. I’ve subsequently co-authored a further four guidebooks for them. I have written about luxury hotels for Mr & Mrs Smith, the art of Mexican wrestling for Lonely Planet online, Francis Ford Coppola’s hotel in Guatemala for TravelAge West and more. My blog, globetotting.com, focuses on adventurous family travel and features stories on everything from trekking in Nepal with toddlers and exploring India with kids to travelling to Tikal as a family and why you should plan a visit to Durbuy, the smallest city in the world. I am also the European editor for Twist, a new family travel and lifestyle magazine that is published biannually in digital format.
