Kira Richards

Biography

I'm an award-winning writer and editor specialising in travel and food.

I've spent the past two years working in-house at National Geographic Traveller (UK) as an assistant project editor. Before that, I worked at the Financial Times HTSI magazine and HELLO!. Other bylines include FTGlobetrotter, The Sunday Times and Adventure.com.

My areas of interest include food culture and traditions, train travel, wildlife, wellness and community-led stories.

I'm the 2026 'Young Travel Journalist of the Year' (CIOJ) as well as a TravMedia and Inspire Global Awards finalist. I'm also part of the 2025/6 TTG 30 Under 30 programme for future travel leaders.
