Lucy Dodsworth

Biography

Lucy is travel blogger and guidebook author based in Cheltenham, UK, with a background as an editor and proofreader. She runs two travel websites: On the Luce (focusing on low-impact car-free and train travel) and Explore the Cotswolds (covering the Cotswolds region, with a strong focus on public transport).

She also writes about train travel for Food and Travel magazine and is the author of Auld and New in Edinburgh (Hardie Grant), winner of 'Guidebook of the Year' at the BGTW awards 2024, and a contributing author for Lonely Planet's Experience Great Britain. Her next guidebook is currently in production and will be out in spring 2027.

Lucy has an MSc in Tourism, Heritage and Sustainability from the University of Glasgow and regularly appear on BBC national and local radio talking about anything from carbon offsets to packing tips.
