Biography
Mark Nicholls is an award-winning journalist, travel writer and author with more than 30 years’ experience in the media at regional and national level. He has operated in a wide range of roles including newsroom management positions and more recently covered areas as diverse as health, business, travel and defence including operating in war zones in Afghanistan and Iraq. As a freelance journalist and travel writer, he won a feature writer of the year award at the 2012 British Travel Press Awards and has been shortlisted since. Writing for a range of titles including Skier & Snowboarder and Italia! magazine, his specialist areas of interest and expertise include India, Italy, Greece (Crete), Turkey, skiing and winter sports and rail travel.
