Biography

Based in Hertfordshire, I have been writing about travel for at least 25 years for publications including the Guardian, Times, Telegraph, Independent, i and Wanderlust, among many others. I also broadcast reports for BBC Radio 4's From Our Own Correspondent, and I'm the author of My Family and Other Enemies: Life and Travels in Croatia's Hinterland, which won the 2023 BGTW Adele Evans Award for Best Travel Narrative Book and was shortlisted for the 2023 Stanford Travel Book of the Year.
