Biography
Shafik Meghji is an award-winning journalist, travel writer and author. Specialising in Latin America and South Asia, he has co-authored more than 45 guidebooks for Lonely Planet, DK Eyewitness and Rough Guides and writes for BBC Travel, National Geographic Traveller, Wanderlust, Adventure.com and Geographical, among others. Shafik’s first book, Crossed Off the Map: Travels in Bolivia, was shortlisted for the Edward Stanford Travel Book of the Year 2023 and named by the Washington Post as one of the travel books of the year. His second book, Small Earthquakes: A Journey Through Lost British History in South America, will be published in July 2025.Destination Expertise
