Biography :
Fourteen years TV presenting – ten as 'Special Assignments Man' on BBC2's The Travel Show. Full-time single-dad (kids now young adults) and author of humorous father/son travel books. Freelance writer/humorous speaker. Contributed to most UK national newspapers. Has MA in Voice Studies and works as voice coach. Also teaches writing and speaking skills in prisons. Has brought up two sons alone therefore had numerous single dad adventures - including one, taking a motor-home across Canada with three borrowed grannies. Many budget trips (one with toddler sons financed by re-mortgaging - another with teenage sons financed by their busking). Also writes about family issues (occasionally under pseudonyms) and gives humorous (and serious) talks on Travel, Shakespeare and Parenting. Has performed sell-out shows at Edinburgh Fringe. As well as writing, has worked as a voice coach since doing MA in 2010 at Central School of Speech and Drama. Runs Speaking Shakespeare Workshops in UK and abroad for participants ranging from actors, business people and prisoners - to members of the Women's Institute.
