Giving members a PR boost – ITA top tips

We’ve curated the finalists in the BGTW International Tourism Awards into three travel narratives.

We’ve curated the finalists in the BGTW International Tourism Awards into three travel narratives under the heading ‘Top Travel Tips for 2021 and Beyond’. You can see all of this at bgtw.org/top-tips-2021.

With that in place, and thank you to Amy McPherson for compiling the narratives, we’re now ready to start using social media to spread the word. Over the next few weeks, up to the announcement of the winners, currently likely to be mid-April, our crack social media team headed up by Meera Dattani and Janine Marsh will be tweeting and posting about each ITA finalist.

If your nominated project is a finalist in the ITA then you too have a role to play in raising the profile of the project, the Guild and, most importantly, yourself. You can watch out for the official Guild tweet and post, and retweet and re-post, or put something out yourself saying how delighted you are that the project you nominated is a finalist. Don’t forget to include the handles and hashtags for your project, the local tourist board or region, and any other tourism agency you feel should know about the success.

All of this will be extremely useful in generating interest and awareness among travel and tourism professionals who might then be keen to come to The Savoy on 31 October.

If you’re a finalist in the BGTW Members’ Excellence Awards then you too can post or tweet saying how delighted you are to be a finalist. In all of this remember to use @TravWriters.
