Members’ awards success

Two Guild members won recognition in this year’s AITO (Association of Independent Tour Operators) travel writing awards competition.  For his feature about “the extraordinary female free divers of South Korea” published in Suitcase Magazine,  Jonathan Thompson came second in the Travel Writer of the Year category for best feature under 1500 words. And just behind hm in joint third place was Kerry Christiani for her piece on Svalbard, Norway, in Lonely Planet Traveller magazine.
And congratulations to Jeannine Williamson, who whose article ‘Setting Sail for the Past in Cuba’ in Cruise Adviser was named Travel Trade Feature of the Year in the 2017 Travel Media Awards.
