Biography

I am currently Editorial Director of the Blue Guides, a long-established guide book series that celebrated its centenary in 2018. We publish English-language guides to classic destinations in Europe and farther afield, aimed at independent travellers with a predominant interest in history and a desire to explore art, architecture, archaeology and sculpture. I have held this position since 2004. Before that I was co-founder of a guide book series called Visible Cities and before that I edited a visitor magazine to Budapest, the city where I am based. Blue Guides are well known to travellers in Europe and the US. We have won an award for our cartography. We are a niche product catering to a specific segment of the travel demographic and are proud to be still going after over 100 years. I oversee the commissioning, editing and production of our entire list and am author of 'Blue Guide Budapest', 'Pilgrim's Rome' and 'Literary Companion Rome', and co-author of 'Blue Guide Rome' and 'Blue Guide Lombardy, Milan and the Italian Lakes'. I also take photographs to illustrate the guides.
