Biography

Ben Westwood has worked in travel for 25 years. He started out as a travel journalist at the Telegraph, becoming online travel editor. After two years in PR, Ben moved to South America and combined university teaching with guidebook writing for Rough Guides and Moon Handbooks. He moved back to the UK and lectured in journalism at University of Brighton while freelancing for publications including the Telegraph, Times, Guardian, Independent, Wanderlust.. Ben has authored guidebooks to Ecuador, Galapagos, Peru and London. He also published his first novel, eco-thriller Green Shoots. He currently combines freelance writing with copywriting for tour operators and has begun to specialise in sustainable tourism.
