Biography

In his career as an outdoors and travel writer / radio broadcaster, Clive has visited over 70 countries worldwide, has been equipment editor of three major UK walking magazines, and his words or pictures have graced the pages of nearly every UK national newspaper. He has taken a 90 mph ride in a bobsleigh down the Olympic Bob Run in St Moritz, and descended 100 feet in a submersible to the bottom of Windermere in the English Lake District. He was the first journalist to fly in a hot air balloon in Soviet Russia, and has led mountain treks in various parts of the world, including in Nepal for British Everest legend Doug Scott CBE. He was onboard journalist crew member of the powerboat Spirit of Cardiff, which circumnavigated the world in 2002/3 and which still holds the world record for the fastest powerboat transatlantic.

Clive is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Honorary Life Member of the British Guild of Travel Writers, member of the Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild and member of Mensa. He is also the holder of 33 UIM powerboating world records.
